The Student Services Department is the support system for students. The goal is to help students achieve their personal and academic aspirations. To accomplish this goal, we are here to support and connect students to the university’s resources.
Counseling
Department Chairs are available by appointments for academic advising with regard to academic and career planning.
The scope of this activity includes:
- Analyzing interests related to academic and career planning or
- Selecting courses and student activities that maximize potential and opportunities
- Developing an academic plan that encompasses both the course work and the supplemental needs of the student
Office of Student Services provides confidential and personal discussion/s concerning life situations, which may affect the student’s learning or personal development. If necessary, referrals are made to professional counselors in governmental agencies or private counseling facilities.
New Student Orientation
The New Student Orientation is designed for newly-enrolled students to familiarize them with campus facilities, policies and regulations, faculty, administrators, and staff. The student’s attendance to the new student orientation is mandatory. It is usually scheduled about 1 week prior to the start of the school term.
Library Orientation
Library orientation is designed to help new and current students learn more about library services and resources. This orientation is held in conjunction with new student orientation. CALUSA also offers this orientation, by appointment, at any time.
Job Placement Services
CALUSA provides job placement assistance within the institution and through its network affiliations with computer and business related companies. Assistance in the preparation of a resume is provided upon student request. In addition, a bulletin board is maintained with job announcements and career opportunities. Students’ personal resumes are maintained for alumni at their request.
These services are provided at no cost to the student. CALUSA, however, does not guarantee employment nor a specific level of income from its placement assistance.
Student Housing
CALUSA does not provide student housing. However, there are many private apartments and boarding houses around the school. The Student Services Office helps students find appropriate housing, and provides current information on the approximate cost or range of cost of housing.
Child Care Information
CALUSA Institute does not provide Child Care service in its campus, but will assist students in locating adequate Child Care facilities near the campus. However, it is recommended that parents explore the different options available and fully research before enrolling child (REN). The following information is designed to help student parents start their search.

CALUSA Student Association
Student Association acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body in matters pertaining to enhancement of the academic and social environment of the Institute. To achieve this purpose, the Association strives to develop and present diverse activities that will meet the academic, cultural, and social needs of the students.
Student Events
CALUSA Student Services strives to plan events for students to foster campus community, help students get involved and celebrate the diversity of our student body. Some activities include our Thanksgiving potluck, APA Workshops, Career Days , etc.
